About the catalogue

The Rabbit Sweep catalogue of online resources is an initiative of the Rabbit Sweep group.. Asking Google for resources about rabbits can reveal up to 7 million resources - how does someone know which is relevant, which is based on good science, which will answer their question?

The catalogue is open to records from anyone with good online resources or who has found a good online resource they would like others to be able to find. Entries are checked before publication. Use of the catalogue will be private and kept private, as will be submissions of records, but we ask for your email address if you make a submission in case we need clarification in any way.

Apart from helping users find resources they will find useful, the catalogue can help inform resource providers about how their resources might be improved, and what is missing. Catalogues are useful if they do more than name a resource - in our case, we ask for details of the resource when submitting it for the catalogue.

Other organisations are invited to provide a link to the Rabbit Sweep catalogue - please let us know if you are doing this.

How to use the catalogue

You can browse the catalogue or search for particular resources by publisher, subject, or any of a set of other criteria. You can look at the FAQs where someone has found a good answer to your question in advance. See FAQs at https://www.rabbit-sweep.org/faqs.

If you are using a resource, other similar or relevant resources can be found using the subject buttons at the end of the catalogue record.

If you want to search the catalogue, the following attributes of the content of resources are available for your use:

  • location of the actual resource
  • type of resource eg text or video
  • description of resource
  • topic of resource
  • control methods
  • habitat control methods
  • getting help
  • planning
  • risks
  • future monitoring

If you are contributing, you will be able to provide extra information to the Rabbit Sweep team.
